Consisting of delegates from UK, US, and Belgium and accompanied by CCBN Organizing Committee, the VIP group visited BTV from 9:30 to 11:30 on March 22, 2010. The group included Mr. Mark Christie, Director and Founder of British Loko Group, Mr. Mark Rooney, Customer Service Director of British Pace Group, Mr. Thomas Morrod, Senior Analyst and Mr. Wang Wenbo, Analyst of British Screen Digest Group, Mr. Roger Blakeway, the Chairman and Ms. Sara Waddington, Executive Editor of British SCTE International Cable Telecomm Engineer Committee, Mr. Stan Moote Vice President of US Harris Group, Senior Vice President of US Ooyala Group, and Gerard Seghers, Economic and Commercial Counselor and Dong Xinxin, Counselor of Commercial Section of Belgium Embassy to China. Through the tour, BTV fully demonstrates its worldwide technology-leading equipments and facilities, digitalized program production, broadcasting and transmission, and automated office management system. The visit was conduced in a top-down pattern. The visitors first arrived at sightseeing hall located on 41st floor with high-speed elevators and then at network live broadcasting studio on 16th floor and visited 12 channels of CCTV, including 11 general program-relay studios and one real-time HD broadcasting equipment room, and the HD equipment room of Broadcasting Department located on 13th floor afterwards. Visitors also arrived at BTV¡¯s Broadcasting Building and visited 1000 square meter broadcasting hall on 2nd floor. Visitors took a tour on BTV¡¯s Grand Theater with full functions and first-class facilities and enjoyed various special effects provided by the Theater on the spot as well. The group at last visited BTV¡¯s news broadcasting studio and took a picture in the Comprehensive-function Building¡¯s lobby.
The visitors had been communicating technically with working staff of BTV during the whole visit. It can be conclude that this visit witnessed the technical systems that have been full achieved with digitalization, networking, and intelligent and reflected the new growing trend to move to new and high technologies and diversification of China¡¯s Broadcasting and TV industry.
