October 27 to 28, 2008, MODIBEC China National Event was held in Swissotel, Beijing. Vice president of Academy of Broadcasting Science (ABS), the State Administration of Radio, Film & Television (SARFT): Mr. Zou Feng, Gao Peng (senior engineer) and CCBN delegates attended the meeting.

 

The MODIBEC project is a 24-month, multi-partner Coordination Action that intends to promote and support RTD cooperation between EU and China on digital broadcasting technologies - especially the convergence with mobile communications.

 

Zou Feng delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and introduced the development of digital multimedia broadcasting in China in recent years. After that, delegates from various companies and institutions delivered speeches on their respective research areas.

 

CCBN delegates distributed more than 100 copies of CCBN2009 Promotion Brochures and gifts to the attendees, and had some positive exchanges with a number of broadcasting practitioners.

 

Mr. Du Baichuan, former Vice Chief Engineer of SARFT also attended the meeting.
